According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, business is the most popular major among undergraduate students. Business is a subject of study likely to yield a high return on investment, but however you look at it, school is expensive. Fortunately, there is a vast array of scholarships available specifically for business students. Below is a sampling of 100 scholarships targeted directly at business students that will help you get started on your financial aid hunt. Nation-Wide Business Scholarships
- The Ford Business Scholarship is awarded through the Golden Key International Honors Society. There are several other scholarships granted through Golden Key to members and business students.
- The National Business Association Scholarship program is sponsored by the National Business Association. It awards five $1,500 scholarships each year to association members and their children.
- The NSA Scholarship Foundation is sponsored by the National Society of Accountants. The society grants several scholarships a year to qualified accounting students.
- The Delta Mu Delta Scholarship Program grants 25 scholarships totaling $30,000 each year to outstanding business students across the country. The scholarship program is sponsored by Delta Mu Delta.
- The United Agribusiness League & United Agricultural Benefit Trust Scholarship Program is offered by the United Agribusiness League.This program has granted more than $600,000 to business students pursuing careers in management, government, market development, international sales, and foreign trade .
- The Gertrude Cox Scholarship is awarded through the American Statistical Association to female statistic students. The American Statistical Association also sponsors several other scholarships for accomplished business students interested in careers in the field of statistics. These include the Wilks Memorial Award and the Waller Education Award .
- Scholarships.com offers a $1,000 scholarship to one qualified business school student each year.
- A National Scholarship is provided by the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants to aspiring CPAs. The recipient of the scholarship receives the complete Becker CPA Review Course worth $2,995.
- The Daniel B Goldberg Scholarship, the Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship, and the Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship are offered through the Government Finance Officers Association. These scholarships are granted to any business students at the graduate and undergraduate levels planning to work in state and local government finance. The awards are for $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.
- Leaders Scholarship is a $1,000 to $5,000 award granted through the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). The recipient must be in an undergraduate or graduate degree program relevant to medical practice management, including public health, business administration, healthcare administration or a related area at a U.S. college or university.
- General Electric (GE)/LULAC Scholarship is awarded through the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) National Educational Services Centers, Inc. The scholarship is for $5,000 and granted to a business student at any accredited college or university in the U.S. The recipient must be a U.S citizen or legal resident and a minority student.
- Abraham Mitchell Business Scholarship is awarded through the University of South Alabama to any business student with a 23 ACT score. The association grants five awards of $8,000 per year.
- The Ritchie-Sennings Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. The association grants 30 scholarships of $1,000 each to full time undergraduate or graduate students at an accredited four-year college or university pursing a declared major in accounting, business and finance or criminal science.
- Earl G. Graves Scholarship is a $5,000 award granted through the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). The recipient must be a junior or senior business major enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States, or a graduate student enrolled in or accepted to a master's or doctoral program within a business school at an accredited college or university in the United States.
- State and County Specific Business Scholarships
- South Lorain Merchants Association Scholarship is offered through the Community Foundation of Greater Lorain County to Lorain County residents. The recipient of the $1,250 award must be a high school senior who is planning to major in business or finance.
- Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation Scholarship is granted through the Fukunage Foundation. The $5,000 award is given to a business administration student in Hawaii.
- NCMA Denver Chapter Scholarship is offered through the National Contract Management Association - Denver Chapter. The association grants four scholarships of $500 each to high school seniors who are intending to enroll, or college students who are currently enrolled in a college or university, and working on a degree in a contracting or business field of study.
- Charles W. and Annette Hill Scholarship is awarded through the American Legion – Kansas to college freshmen business students. The recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a descendant of an American Legion member. The award is for $1,000.
- The Charleston Rotary Club Scholarship is granted through the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation. The foundation grants five scholarships of $1,000 each year to business students attending a college or university in West Virginia.
- Economic Club of Grand Rapids Scholarship is offered through the Grand Rapids Community Foundation to students pursuing a business degree in Kent, Michigan or Ottawa, Michigan. The award is for $2,500.
- Willard H. Erwin Jr. Scholarship is sponsored by the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation. The $1,000 scholarship is given to West Virginia residents pursuing degrees in business or healthcare finance.
- Margaret A. Tompkins Oxnard Monday Club Scholarship is offered through the Ventura County Community Foundation. The recipient must be a female graduating high school senior or graduate who is a resident of Oxnard, CA, and majoring in business or science. The award is for $600.
School-Specific Business Scholarships
- Anthony Gerharz Scholarship is a $950 award granted to business students attending Montana State University – Billings. Preference is given to accounting students who are members of the Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants. Montana State- Billings also grants the Dan Fleury Construction/Stockman Bank Scholarship and several other awards to business majors.
- Bank of Hawaii Endowed Business Student Scholarship is awarded to students attending the School of Business at Brigham Young University of Hawaii. The award is for $1,000 and the school provides seven scholarships each year.
- Business Department Scholarship is offered through Waynesburg College to business students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The award is for $2,000 and is renewable.
- Business Educators Award is granted to Five Towns College business students. The school grants 17 awards of $1,000 each year.
- Business Excellence Award is granted to Gannon University business students. The scholarship is for $1,500.
- A Business Scholarship of $400 to $5,000 can be granted to business students attending Webber International University.
- The C.E. Field Scholarship is granted through Brescia University to business and business administration students. The school grants eight scholarships ranging from $350 to $1,000 each year.
- Christine and Clarence Day Business Scholarship is a $10,000 renewable scholarship offered through the University of Mississippi to business students.
- The Caterpillar Scholarship is granted through Millikin University. This award of $2,500 is given to dependants of Caterpillar employees and/or applicants majoring in business.
- College of Business Sustaining Student Scholarship is offered through the University of Colorado at Denver to international and domestic students attending the College of Business. The award is for $1,000. This school also grants a $2,000 scholarship called the Dean's Scholarship for Undergraduate Business Students.
- Charles VanArsdale Scholarship is awarded through the State University of New York College of Arts and Sciences at Geneseo. The $1,500 award is offered to a pre-major in the school of business. SUNY College of Arts and Sciences at Geneseo also grants several other scholarships to business, accounting and economic students at the School of Business including the Rotenberg and Co. Scholarship and the Richard Bosco Memorial Scholarship.
- Dr. Edwin A. Ulrich Business Scholarship is a $1,000 award granted through the State University of New York at New Paltz. SUNY New Paltz also sponsors several other scholarships specifically for business students, including Wachovia School of Business Scholarship and the School of Business Alumni Scholarship.
- George M. Penney Presidential Scholarship is awarded through the State University of New York College at Oswego to incoming freshman in the School of Business or Public Justice. The award is for $2,416. This school sponsors several other business scholarships as well, including the Robert Brian Ellis Scholarship for $500.
- Dixie Crystals Business Scholarship is granted by Georgia Southern University to business administration students. The award is for $1,500 and is renewable. The school grants three scholarships per year. The school also grants several other scholarships through the College of Business including the Freeman Business Scholarship for $5,000 and the Prince Foundation Scholarship.
- John L. and Margaret S. Fraley Scholarship is granted through the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The award is for $3,500 and is given to a North Carolina resident and major within the College of Business Administration. This school also sponsors several other business scholarships, such as the John Pickens Derham Cato Scholarship, another scholarship of $1,000 awarded to business students, as well as the Rexham Corporation Scholarship.
- Browning Family Business Scholarship is offered through the University of Oklahoma to students of the College of Business. This award is for $1,000 and is renewable up to four years. The school also sponsors several other scholarships to business students including the Tiegen Scholarship and the Greg Roland Memorial Scholarship.
- Louisville Sales Club Scholarship is sponsored by the University of Louisville. The recipient must be a junior or senior in the College of Business and Public Administration. The scholarship is for $1,000.
- Melvin Jones Memorial Scholarship is awarded through Southern Virginia University to a returning business student. The award is for $2,500.
- Norine and Harold Rupp Annual Business Management Scholarship is a $1,000 award granted to Business Administration; Management Information Systems and Business Data Processing students attending the Northwood University - Michigan Campus.
- Rita & Charles Gelman Undergraduate Scholarship is a renewable $2,000 scholarship awarded to new or continuing students enrolled full time in a Bachelor of Business Administration program at Cleary University.
- Rotary Club of Hilo Scholarship is sponsored by the University of Hawaii – Hilo. This scholarship of $1,000 is granted to students enrolled in the College of Business and Economics.
- Sells Business Administration Scholarship is sponsored by the Texas A&M University – Kingsville to students majoring in Business Administration. The award is for $500 and is renewable. The school grants several other business-related scholarships annually, including the Tom and Glenda Best Scholarship and the TAI Accounting Society Scholarship.
- Stanley Jackson Reeves Memorial Scholarship is offered through Clemson University to students enrolled in the College of Business and Public Affairs. The scholarship is for $550.
- Stephanie Sheffield Travel Scholarship is a $4,000 scholarship awarded to College of Charleston students. The recipient must be taking both business and French courses.
- The Associated Bank Scholarship is available through Carroll University to business or accounting majors. The award is for $500 and is renewable.
- Department of Business Scholarship is available to business student attending Black Hills State University. The school grants 10 awards of $1,000 each per year.
- Lisa A. Bollinger Scholarship is available to students majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing at the College of Charleston. The award is for $1,500 and is renewable.
- The Rhodrick R. Wadehul Memorial Scholarship is offered through Burlington College to students interested in entrepreneurship and small business management. The scholarship is for $500.
- Roy and Jeanne Reed Business Scholarship is an award offered to business administration students attending Carl Albert State College.
- Female Business Student Scholarships
- ABWA Severn River Chapter Scholarship is offered by the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) Severn River Chapter to a female resident of Anne Arundel County MD. The recipient must be seeking a business or professional career, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is for $1,000.
- American Corporate Scholarship is a $14,000 award offered to business students enrolled at the University of Evansville. The scholarship is renewable and the recipient must be a student at the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration.
- Alpha Beta Gamma Scholarship is awarded through Chatham University. This $5,000 scholarship is awarded to a female business student involved in the Alpha Beta Gamma International Business Honor.
- American Business Women Association Scholarship is an award for a female business student at Mesa State College or female resident of Mesa Country, Colorado. The recipient must prepare and present a five-minute speech at the April meeting of the American Business Women Association in order to win this $500 scholarship. Mesa State College also grants the American Business Women Association Unified Technical Education Campus Scholarship to female students pursuing an associate's degree at the Unified Technical Education Campus.
- Ada Little Business Scholarship is an award for female business students at Brenau University. The school grants an award of $4,000.
- Anna Groninger Smith Memorial Scholarship is a $5,000 award granted through Juniata College. The recipient must be a female student majoring in business studies.
- Constance L. Lloyd/ACMPE Scholarship is a scholarship granted through the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). The $1,500 award is offered to female students enrolled in an accredited college in Georgia.
- Executive Women Alumni Scholarship is a $1,000 award granted through the University of Louisville to female students majoring in business.
- National Association of Women Business Owners Scholarship is a scholarship offered through the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The recipient must be a female student, with preference given to business students over the age of 25.
- Red River Business and Professional Women's Club Endowment Scholarship is granted through the Texas A&M University – Texarkana to female business students over the age of 25 looking to re-enter the job market. The $250 award is renewable each year.
- The Forte Foundation Scholarship program grants scholarships to women pursuing MBAs at participating business schools. The program is sponsored by the Forte Foundation.
- Schmidt Business Scholarship is offered through the Clearwater Christian College to female business majors. The award is for $2,500.
- Women's Business Alliance Scholarship is a $2,000 award granted to female business students with an emphasis in hospitality management. The scholarship is offered through the Women's Business Alliance of Choice Hotels International and granted to students attending any accredited college or university in the United States.
Minority Business Awards
- The Johnson Scholarship is awarded to a Native American student attending Sitting Bull College. The recipient must plan to start a new business or expand an existing business on the reservation. The $2,500 award can be used for tuition, internship needs, workshops or training courses.
- The Procter & Gamble Minority Scholarship is offered through the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The $1,000 award is granted to minority or handicapped students in the College of Business Administration.
- Bill Reed Scholarship is awarded through Western Washington University to African American students majoring in business or computer science. The award is for $1,000.
- The U.S. Bank Minority Scholarship is granted through Western Washington University to African-American, Native American, Hispanic-American, or Asian/Pacific Islanders. The school grants five scholarships of $2,000 each to students in a College of Business and Economics program.
- Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellowship program is sponsored by the Consortium and aims to help minority men get ready for management positions. African American, Hispanic American and Native American men are eligible for this award.
- HSF/Citi Fellow Scholarship Program is sponsored by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and available to Hispanic students studying business administration, accounting or finance at one of the following institutes: University of California, University of Columbia, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, New York University, Northwestern University, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Rutgers – Camden, Rutgers -- New Brunswick, Rutgers – Newark, Stanford University, University of Texas, University of Virginia or Yale University. The association grants 10 scholarships of $5,000 each per year.
- The Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship is offered through the Government Finance Officers Association. The scholarship is granted to any business administration minority student at the graduate and undergraduate levels planning to work in state and local government finance. The award is for $5,000 and granted to those of Black or African American, American Indian or Alaskan native, Asian, native Hawaiian or other Pacific islander, Hispanic or Latino heritage.
- The Lagrant Foundation Scholarship Program is offered through the Lagrant Foundation to undergraduate and graduate students of African American, Asian, Pacific islander, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, or Alaskan native descent. Recipients must be pursuing careers in the fields of advertising, marketing, or public relations at accredited universities.
- NBMBAA National Undergraduate Scholarship Program is offered through the National Black MBA Association. The society disburses $1,000 to undergraduate minority business candidates. The National Black MBA Association also sponsors the NBMBAA Collegiate Chapter Scholarship Program.
- The Arthur and Genevieve Roth Scholarship is awarded to any U.S. citizen of Polish descent majoring in business, finance, banking, or business administration. The scholarship is offered through the Kosciuszko Foundation and students from any university or college may apply.
MBA Business Awards and Fellowships
- MBA Alumni Community Impact Scholarship if offered to MBA students at Athabasca University. The $3,000 award is given to MBA students who volunteer and play a role in community service.
- Rita & Charles Gelman Graduate Scholarship is available though Cleary University to a new or continuing student who must be degree seeking and enrolled full-time in a Master of Business Administration program with at least a 3.0 GPA. The $2,000 scholarship is offered annually as funds are available, and is renewable.
- Robert H. and Catherine H. Goldsmith Scholarship is granted through the California State University - San Marcos to students who have completed an undergraduate degree in business, and wish to further their education by enrolling in the school's MBA program. The award is for $1,500.
- The National Society of Hispanic MBA's Scholarship Program is sponsored by the National Society of Hispanic MBA's. The society grants several scholarships of $1,000 to $10,000, most of which are renewable, to Hispanic students who are pursing MBA degrees.
- The McCallum Graduate School of Business Scholarship is offered through Bentley University to NBMBAA members. A full-tuition scholarship is reserved for qualified candidates applying to the two-year full-time MBA program.
- The NBMBAA National MBA Scholarship Program awards scholarships to deserving graduate students pursuing an MBA. Scholarships range from $1,000 - $15,000 and include membership to the association. The National Black MBA Association sponsors the scholarship program and the recipient must be a minority student.
